About the Site

This site is dedicated to my beautiful wife Sharon.  She said I should do something with the pictures I try to take when I'm working on projects.  She recently passed away after a long battle with breast cancer.  I thought it would be nice to follow through and share some of my past and future projects.  I also want to share family photos with our family and many friends who miss her almost as much as I do.

As you progress with a project, you forget some the prior things you went through to get to that step.  Sometimes it's hard, even for me, to believe how much work it takes to complete some projects until I look at the pictures.

I have enjoyed woodworking off and on for over 30 years.  I had a lot of periods when I was so busy doing other things that I didn't have time for it.  I always loved getting back and starting a new project and I would realize how much I missed it.

I started out with a Rockwell 10" contractor table saw.  It was an inexpensive model from one of the local home improvement centers.  I bought it to build a cabinet for a new "Heath Kit TV" that I had just finished assembling.  I also bought a Craftsman router to do some designs and edge detail.  I still use the saw today.  It has been one of the best things I ever bought.

I didn't know much about the best ways to put things together then or how to finish them.  I bought a few books and learned as I went.  I never wanted things to break, so I know I overbuilt that first TV cabinet.

I hope you enjoy the projects and maybe get a few ideas for some of your own.  Other sites have given me a lot of new concepts and ideas.  There is nothing better than looking at what other woodworkers are doing to get the creative juices flowing.
